Weekend Getaway - Malacca Trip Dec 2009

This historical city centre has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 7 July 2008. It was a nice city, but I didn't expect it to be so crowded with people and cars... maybe due to the school holidays.

Eyes on Melaka... I will ride on it with my son when he turns three, he is still too young for that. [Eye on Malaysia has been closed permanently, what a pity]

We stayed in the Majestic Malacca... a small luxurious hotel. Service was great, even though not all hotel staff are friendly. The bed was too soft for my liking, I couldn't get a good sleep. The noise of the pipes was so irritating, especially if your neighbors next door took a late night or early morning showers, it was so loud! Nevertheless, I still think the stay was pretty enjoyable. Some find it hard to locate... this hotel is at the back of Renaissance Hotel, near the Melaka River.

Nyonya food is a must in Melaka, go to Melaka Raya where you can see many shop lots and there are plenty of Nyonya restaurants.
